Today’s curated Web3 stories feature a handful of familiar entities, but new projects are taking center stage as well. 

Prominent companies and platforms such as Avalanche, Binance, Coinbase, Immutable,and JP Morgan have been making moves in the space lately. However, names that the community has never heard of before, are also entering the world of blockchain with a multitude of Web3 initiatives.

One cannot be blamed for not being aware of projects such as 3PartArt, Puffverse, Raze, Skodaverse, Sp4ce Games, and Superior. After all, these are among the latest to sprout on the blockchain’s fertile ground.

Meanwhile, for the Web3 gamers out there, our roundup will feature titles such as ElemenYx, ExoWorlds, Gunfire Polygon, League of Kingdoms, Snake City, TimeShuffle, and World of Tanks, among others.

  • Cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase’s arm in Japan has listed Avalanche blockchain’s native token $AVAX. Citizens of the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ can now trade the token with their desktop and mobile devices (M).

  • Immutable X and Kingsway Capital-backed entertainment studio Galactic Games recently launched its cinematic multiverse game PlanetQuest. As of this writing, tens of thousands of supporters have committed to obtaining their own ‘planets’ (BCP).

  • Digital art gallery elementum has collaborated with physical contemporary art gallery Kate Vass Galerie to launch its ‘Liebe Maschine, male mir’ NFT art exhibit. Using algorithms and blockchain technology, the immersive project can be experienced at the Zurich Airport in Switzerland (DB).

  • Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, announced plans to support blockchain education in the Philippines. The CZ-led company also partnered with some schools in the country’s capital Metro Manila, to spread more knowledge about the nascent technology (ABS).

  • Investment bank and financial services giant JP Morgan unveiled plans to set up a new Payments Innovation Lab in Athens, Greece. The initiative aims to explore blockchain technology for the company’s operations (CG).

Web3 Games

  • Avalanche-based strategy game TimeShuffle announced a “Beta Contest” event. PC users will get the chance to test the game for a week starting on November 17 (TW).

  • Shooter game Gunfire Polygon (also known as Gunfire AVAX) recently kicked off the 14th installment of its “Endless Tournament,” which will run from November 15-22. The competition will give away 200 $MATIC to winning participants (GFA).

  • Action/survival game SnakeCity launched its “Road to Qatar” tournament, which the team teased earlier this week as a “World Cup-related event.” Contestants are required to play and collect national flags to win their share of the $10,000 prize pool (M).

  • Sci-fi MMORPG ExoWorlds has partnered with Web3 gaming company Sp4ce Games to help with the project’s growth. The game is built on the VeChainThor blockchain, and the collaboration will focus on content creation, marketing, and strategy (CNF).

  • Independent game developer Drifter launched its third-person shooter game Superior on online gaming platform Steam. Since the company has received backing from Gala Games, players can also enjoy the title’s blockchain version through the Web3-focused game studio’s platform (VB).

  • Web3 gaming guild Avocado DAO has partnered with Glip, a tournament platform for gamers. The two entities will host a competition for strategy MMO game League of Kingdoms. Additionally, the contest will hail 100 winners, who will receive their share from the project’s $515 prize pool (TW).

  • Upcoming Free-to-Play tank shooter game World of Tanks is set to launch soon. While the developers have yet to announce the project’s official release date, reports state that the game already has 160 million registered players (ES).

  • Space-themed platform shooting game ElemenYx has announced a couple of notable partnerships this week. The projects include upcoming GameFi/SocialFi metaverse title Karmaverse and popular cryptocurrency Shiba Inu’s Shiba NFT collection (TW). 

NFTs and Metaverse

  • Art innovator 3PartArt has launched its first Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection “The Dreamer” on leading digital asset marketplace OpenSea. The debut project features 100 AI art NFTs that drew inspiration from the poem of the same title. Additionally, the collection also includes a book that fans can purchase on Amazon (PRN).

  • Charity and grantmaker Fidelity Charitable announced an NFT project called “Art of Generosity.” Basically, the collection features acts of philanthropy as depicted by 12 digital artists, muralists, and photographers, among others (BW).

  • NFT minting platform Raze has integrated Layer 1 blockchain Avalanche into its system. Considered as the fastest protocol in the industry, the popular ecosystem will help Raze improve fundraising processes (EIN).

  • “Dreamland” metaverse project Puffverse will host its “Mystery Box Sale” on NFT marketplace Binance NFT. Slated for launch on November 17, the event will allow each participant to obtain an NFT that represents one of the upcoming World Cup’s 32 qualifying teams (BSCN).

  • Pepe Soho, an award-winning Mexican nature and landscape photographer, has announced the launch of his NFT art collection. Titled “Coming Home,” the project is available on digital asset platforms OpenSea and Nifty Gateway (PRW).

  • Skoda, one of the oldest car manufacturers in the world, has launched its first metaverse experience “Skodaverse.” The virtual project runs on the Nemesis Web3 platform, and uses cross-gaming 3D avatar platform Ready Player Me for its avatars (LI).

  • Canadian businessman and television personality Kevin O’Leary is slated to deliver a keynote speech at the upcoming Middle East Blockchain Awards (MEBA) in Abu Dhabi on November 18. The crypto proponent and chairman of O’Leary Ventures is well-known for his regular appearance on ABC’s reality show Shark Tank (AB).

  • The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) has decided to put a halt to its “CHESS replacement project.” Basically, the initiative aims to replace its legacy clearing and settlements system with a blockchain-powered platform (CT).

  • Layer-2 (L2) scaling solution StarkWare has launched its StarkNet token (STRK) on the Ethereum mainnet. The ecosystem will utilize the token for decentralized activities including voting, fee payments, and staking (CD).

  • Blockchain investment institution LBank Labs, the developers of crypto exchange LBank, unveiled plans to establish a series of regional development funds. Among the countries and continents that will benefit from the initiative are South Korea, South East Asia, and Africa (BIC).

  • Capital market firm Spirit Blockchain Capital has announced a strategic investment in full stack AI platform InvestDEFY. The partnership aims to develop improved yield solutions for Spirit’s bitcoin ($BTC) and ether ($ETH) portfolio, while providing new income streaming solutions (GNW).
