One of the main drivers behind the Avalanche Subnets can be attributed to blockchain gaming, as the scene continues to grow in popularity with a variety of different projects coming into the fold, a report by Messari reporting on the state of the blockchain for Q1 2022, highlighted.
The Avalanche network allows users to create subnets that work like separate blockchains, but are smaller segmented pieces of a larger network. The increasing presence of subnets on Avalanche helped pave the way for Play-and-Earn games in the ecosystem.
The global popularity of gaming is exponentially rising over the past decade, but it’s only recently that gamers are flocking into the Web3 space. With more devs building on subnets, new titles are introduced on the market. The Avalanche community will keep on expanding in the coming years.
Here are some of the top subnets and games on Avalanche:
DFK Chain Testnet and DeFi Kingdoms
DeFi Kingdoms is a Play-and-Earn game “with plans to become a fully-fledged MMORPG.” Upon release of the DeFi Kingdoms: Crystalvale expansion, the dev team also launched its own blockchain known as the DFK Chain.
Some of the Chain’s roles in the ecosystem include handling gameplay transactions in Crystalvale and hosting the Crystalvale DEX. In parallel, the DFK Chain is also intended to bridge DeFi Kingdoms from Harmony Protocol to Avalanche.
Swimmer Network and Crabada
The Swimmer Network was built as a dedicated subnet for Crabada’s assets including NFTs and $CRA and $TUS tokens. In the span of just six weeks since launch in May 2022, the Swimmer Network recorded nearly 25K addresses.
Crabada devs also proved that it is possible to migrate assets to a subnet while the game is live. Overall, the process went fast and smooth, save for a few hiccups along the way that were resolved immediately.
Rise of the Warbots
Rise of the Warbots is a Play-and-Earn NFT game set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game involves time-staking Micro Machines ($MMAC) and Nano Machines ($NMAC) tokens to create and upgrade playable “Warbots” that players can use to face off against other players.
A dedicated subnet was created for the Rise of the Warbots a few weeks ago to expand its validator base. The title is also one of the first games to start out on an Avalanche subnet with a complete economy plan.
