Imperium Empires: An Introduction

In the 1960s, mankind’s attempts to venture into outer space captivated our imagination, challenged our technological capabilities, and left us with a treasure trove of unanswered questions. What’s out there beyond the atmosphere? Can we successfully launch a man into space? What does the future hold? And how far can we stray from our beloved Earth?

The early days of space exploration marked the beginning of a new chapter for civilization’s future, and propelled us into the next frontier. Just like those early days in space we find ourselves at another frontier, one that’s more digitally inclined than the last: Web3 gaming.

Okay, so maybe traveling into space and the birth of Web3 gaming aren’t exactly the same. But, we think the two are pretty close.

To celebrate our fascination with discovering new worlds and adventures, we’ve invited the wonderful team over at Imperium Empires to join us for an Ask Me Anything (AMA) event.

This article is meant to give you a short introduction of the team’s Space Metaverse game vision and what to expect from our upcoming AMA on July 1st, 2022, 2PM UTC, via YouTube, Twitch and Miko’s Twitter.

What is Imperium Empires?

Imperium Empires is a AAA, Space Metaverse game currently under development by a team of over 40 people. This isn’t your bootstrapped, fly-by-night gaming operation but rather one with deep pockets that’s looking to enter the space in a big way; projects such as these are much to the delight of gamers who complain blockchain games are not high enough quality.

In short, Imperium Empires is a real-time strategy game, a genre which includes such epic titles as the memorable Age of Empires and Starcraft. The lines between Web3 and Web2 games are beginning to blur and convergence of the two may be in the near future.

However, solving Web3 gaming problems while delivering a AAA experience is a challenge in and of itself that not all game studios and publishers are ready for. A recent trend of game publishers is to port old titles to Web3 as “NFT games,” which triggered mixed reviews from the community.

To invest in a AAA game based on Web3 tech demands courage and a solid business plan. Luckily, it looks like Imperium Empires is able to rock both and we’ll be discussing just that and a variety of other topics in our AMA.

The  Promises Made

Recently, several high profile, play-and-earn games which were based on unsustainable tokenomics, have fizzled out. In light of this, Imperium Empires promises to offer a different and better take to blockchain games:

1. Deliver a AAA game that is built upon Web3 technology.

2. Create a deflationary economy via NFT burns in battles.

3. Deliver seamless DeFi integration into its game.

4. Create a game with strong social elements through players forming guilds and team-to-earn.

Understanding Imperium Empires

You already know that Imperium Empires is a real-time strategy game. But how are gameplay mechanics like? Essentially, the game is divided into three zones: Safe, Combat, and War, with each having their own different levels of risks and rewards. As a player, you’ll be able to mine minerals, or you can loot spaceships that are mining or transporting Ores. All of this takes place within your spaceship NFT since that’s how you’ll experience the game.

In riskier zones, engaging in combat can end with a damaged spaceship NFT, which are burned. This is one of the key deflationary mechanisms of the game.

The game includes player-vs-environment (PVE) consisting of rewards paid in their utility token, IMC, while player-vs-player (PVP) challenges will be rewarded in $IME, its governance token.

We’re going to be covering it all with the dev team: gameplay mechanics, tokenomics, guilds and more, so be sure to catch the session while it’s hot.

Meanwhile, you can take the time to read the game’s whitepaper, to better grasp its mechanics and general concept. Tune in to our AMA session, July 1st, 2022, 2PM UTC. We hope to see you there!
