- Square Enix/Final Fantasy: Japanese video game giant Square Enix has announced the release of the Final Fantasy VII Anniversary Art Museum Digital Card Plus. The release offers physical and digital trading cards featuring characters, scenes, and artworks from the iconic role-playing game (RPG) franchise. Set for release in late March 2023, the collection consists of a total of 207 NFTs. (SE).
- SM Entertainment: South Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment’s subsidiary SM Brand Marketing has unveiled plans to release an NFT project. The profile picture (PFP) digital collectibles will feature portraits of K-Pop artists. In addition, SM has also teamed up with Web3 company Super Normal to form a project called ‘Play2Create (P2C) ecosystem.’ The initiative will feature Super Normal lead illustrator Zipcy’s (Yang Se Eun) artworks as PFP NFTs (AKP).
- Yuga Labs: Yuga Labs, the parent company of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, has introduced a new 2D strategy game. Titled ‘Legends of the Mara,’ (LOTM) the project is a follow-up to its metaverse platform Otherside. According to the team, LOTM is a collection-based game that explores the origins of the NFT avatars called Koda (NFTP).
- Tommy Hilfiger: Fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger is launching its multi-metaverse hub at the Metaverse Fashion Week on Decentraland. The portal’s structure is designed after the company’s TH monogram, with the help of metaverse builder Emperia. The brand will offer digital fashion by DRESSX, and artworks from designer Vinnie Hager, among others (VB).

- Shrapnel: Avalanche-powered AAA shooter game Shrapnel has teamed up with Web3 platform Communi3. The firm specializes in helping businesses and organizations in managing their communities. With the partnership, Shrapnel aims to provide fans with new ways to unlock rewards. Users will be able to play games, chat with friends, and complete missions to collect Shrapnel XP that they can redeem for prizes (TW).
- Knights of Degen: Web3 sports and entertainment platform Knights of Degen is holding the 3rd installment of its NFT NYC Party. The party will take place on April 12 at rap icon Jay-Z’s 40/40 club. Along with DJ music by Bunkr, the event will also feature an art collaboration with Alex Alpert, among others (TW).
- Skyweaver: NFT trading card game (TCG) Skyweaver has announced its first Skyweaver League Tournament for 2023. The competition is giving away 2,000 USDC in prizes, along with Tournament Crystals for the first place winner. Esports platform Community Gaming is hosting a tournament on April 2 to select the top 16 participants who will join the Skyweaver League on the 29th of April (TW).
- Snake City: Action survival game Snake City is set to kick off its ‘Snake Clash’ tournament. The competition will commence on March 29, 3PM – 5PM UTC. To join the event, participants are required to buy tickets for 1 $SCNT each. Competitors will get the chance to win Snake NFTs, as well as a reward pool of 150,000 $SCNT (TW).

- Y00ts: Generative NFT art collection Y00ts has begun its transfer from the Solana network to the Polygon ecosystem. In December 2022, Y00ts parent company DeLabs received a $3 million grant from the Polygon network to migrate to the Ethereum layer-2 (L2) scaling solution. In addition, DeLabs’ other NFT project DeGods also plans to leave Solana for the Ethereum blockchain (CD).
- Lido: Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Lido has revealed plans to integrate NFTs into its platform. The new feature will enable users to receive digital assets that will represent their withdrawal request when unstaking Ether ($ETH). In addition, each withdrawal-request NFT is also transferable to another address, allowing the new address to receive rewards (CD).
- Sotheby’s: Renowned auction house Sotheby’s has decided to halt its NFT auction after artist Patrick Amadon protested the bidding’s all-male lineup. Titled “Natively Digital: Glitch-ism,” the sale featured 17 “glitch artists.” Slated to run from March 24-31, the event drew criticisms for its lack of diversity. “The all-male glitch art show promoted by Sotheby’s is yet another example of the existing disparity in the art world,” artist Oona said in an interview (AN).

- The Ocean Race: International yachting event The Ocean Race has launched a metaverse experience pilot. The project was created in conjunction with the race’s official e-racing game Virtual Regatta and professional services company Accenture. The virtual world offering will enable gamers and fans to interact and attend digital events, among others (A).
- Highstreet: Retail and gaming metaverse platform Highstreet, has announced a project launch with Web3 venture capital firm Animoca Brands. Happening on March 31, the event serves as a “reveal and move-in day” for Highstreet’s virtual All-Terrain Trailer homes. In essence, the properties will have four different power systems, five expandable leisure rooms, and many more (TW).
- OVER: Augmented reality (AR) metaverse platform OVER has released its schedule for the Metaverse Fashion Week on virtual world Decentraland. OVER will hold a hybrid fashion show on March 31, at Milan’s Piazza de Duomo. At the event, a virtual catwalk will showcase designs from various fashion brands, with digital avatars serving as models in the physical world. This unique presentation will be made possible using OVER’s AR application (BIC).
