Play-to-Earn game DeFi Kingdoms just had its first-year anniversary on August 22, 2022.

The DeFi Kingdoms team and the game’s avid supporters definitely deserve a long celebration considering the number of milestones that the growing ecosystem has achieved in the past year.

To celebrate the momentous occasion, the team held a “Summoning Party,” which offered increased rarity odds when summoning in Crystalvale.

Additionally, players who summoned on that day received a Birthday Cake soulbound token, while earning entries to a raffle where they get the chance to win the following prizes: 1st Crystalvale Gen 0, 2 Crystalvale Gen 0 Crystals, 12 Original pets, and Egg Packs (1 of each type).

Just when the players thought the birthday party couldn’t get any bigger, DeFi Kingdoms released the item bridge on August 23. The item bridge is functional from Serendale to Crystalvale only, but will include return trips in the future.

Along with the giveaways, the team decided to “keep the celebrations lasting longer” with a special merch store birthday coupon code which runs until August 29, 2022. Players can use the code DFKBDAY to get a 22% discount on DeFi Kingdoms merchandise.

DeFi Kingdoms: Year One

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights in DeFi Kingdoms’ first year of existence.

DFK Chain Subnet

2022 has been a year of milestones for DeFi Kingdoms, and building a subnet is undoubtedly one of the game’s biggest achievements.

Commonly referred to as the DFK Chain, the new ecosystem showed how efficient subnets are as scaling solutions. With its expanding user base, the DFK Chain and DeFi Kingdoms eventually became one of the top subnets and games on the Avalanche Network.

Enter Klaytn

DeFi Kingdoms was originally built on Harmony and expanded to a new subnet on Avalanche. However, the recent hack on Harmony’s cross-chain bridge – that saw the theft of nearly $100 million in $ETH – prompted the DFK team to finally leave and migrate to metaverse-focused blockchain Klaytn.

The Klaytn ecosystem will be the new home for Serendale, while Crystalvale will remain unaffected on the DFK Chain.

The $CRYSTAL token is part of the team’s expansion efforts. The utility of the $CRYSTAL token is similar to its Serendale counterpart, but with one-fourth of $JEWEL’s supply.

Players can use $CRYSTAL for purchasing and minting Hero NFTs. Holders can also trade the token in the in-game DEX. Additionally, participants can stake the token in a liquidity pool, as well as use them for governance rights.

As of this writing, $CRYSTAL is priced at $0.324, with a 24-hour volume of $204,708 (per CoinMarketCap).
